Underfloor heating
It offers even heat distribution, high comfort and can utilise energy more efficiently than conventional radiators.
Types of underfloor heating systems:
1. Water-bearing (hydraulic) underfloor heating
Heat transfer medium: hot water
Is usually operated in conjunction with a heating system (e.g. gas, heat pump, solar)
Particularly suitable for new buildings or major renovations
2. electric underfloor heating
Heated via electric heating mats or heating cables
Easier and cheaper to install (especially for renovations)
Higher energy consumption compared to the water-based version
Advantages:
Even room warmth
Invisible installation - more space and design freedom
Lower flow temperatures → efficient operation with heat pumps
Less dust dispersion → better for allergy sufferers
Disadvantages:
Slower response time than radiators
Higher installation costs (especially for water-bearing systems)
Subsequent installation is complex
